A new version of our endereco plugin for JTL 5 is now available. Among other things, this update includes enhanced security for the interface, configurable labels for address corrections in the business management system, and support for JTL-Shop 5.8 and PHP 8.5.
- Version 1.4.0: Compatible with JTL-Shop 5.3.0 through 5.8.2 and PHP 8.1 through 8.5
Important: JTL-Shop 5.1, 5.2, as well as PHP 7.4 and 8.0, are no longer supported starting with this version. If you are still using one of these versions, be sure to update it before installing this update.
What's new?
- Configurable Designations in WaWi: When the plugin adds a correction note to the order comments, it previously used fixed labels for the individual address fields. Starting now, you can specify a custom label for each component: Country, State, ZIP Code, City, Street, House Number, Additional Address Information. You can also define a placeholder for empty values. Corrections to the state and address supplement are now displayed as well. The default values are preset in German.
- New Error Messages: The plugin now displays localized messages for missing or unresolvable house numbers, Packstation and post office branch addresses, as well as missing or invalid postal codes. This way, your customer can see exactly what's wrong.
Security Improvements
Two changes that are happening behind the scenes and won't affect you in your day-to-day life, but will make your store more secure:
- API Key Secured: Communication with the endereco API now takes place entirely on the server side.
- Reliable Implementation of Address Corrections: If your customer accepts a suggested correction during checkout, the plugin saves the address to their customer account. The system now verifies that the change actually comes from an active session in your store and affects only the addresses associated with the logged-in customer. All other requests are rejected.
Additional Improvements
- JS-SDK Updated to Version 1.14.5: The new version resolves inconsistent results displayed during address validation, missing status information after name corrections, and incorrect displays when addresses are edited again.
- JTL-Shop 5.8 and PHP 8.5: The plugin now officially supports the latest versions as well.
Fixes
- Address Status When Fields Are Disabled: Optional fields such as "State" or "Additional Address Information" affected the validation status even though they were disabled in the form. This has now been fixed.
- Packstation/Post Office Branch Address Type: The address type selected on the page is now correctly applied before the first check.
- "State" field after page load: The saved status of the "State" field is now displayed correctly even after the page is reloaded.
- Real-time testing on PHP 8.5: A deprecation warning in PHP 8.5 could cause all real-time checks in the front end to fail. This has been fixed.
Update note
During the update, cached audit data (audit status and, if applicable, suggested corrections) from older versions will be deleted because it is not compatible with the new JS-SDK. This data will be automatically regenerated during the next audit; no data visible to your customers will be lost in the process.
The io.php file and the associated .htaccess file are automatically removed during the update. If this fails, the files should be deleted manually.
We recommend that you apply the update in a test environment first. You can find the complete release notes on our website at Release Notes for JTL 5.
