With our latest release, we are making your everyday life easier. It is a small but targeted update that reduces your workload and brings more convenience and efficiency to your processes.
In some countries, there has been confusion in the display of zip codes: depending on the country, they were formatted inconsistently, although the data was processed correctly. This occasionally led to confusion, particularly when checking addresses, especially for users of the single-line input function (SLI).
With our latest release, we have optimized this process: the zip codes are now displayed correctly for each country, making misunderstandings a thing of the past.
Standardized postal code display - small update, clear process
In Sweden, there are strict guidelines on the formatting of the postal code, as it is an integral part of a standardized, automated mail system is. The Swedish postal service (PostNord) has defined clear rules to prevent Fast and error-free sorting and delivery to ensure that
In concrete terms, this means
- A Swedish zip code always consists of five digitsgrouped in the format "XXX XX" (e.g. 123 45).
- No hyphen, no letters, no other spacing is permitted.
- The formatting is part of the machine-readable structure - Sorting machines only reliably recognize correctly formatted zip codes.
With our latest release, the correct formatting is now ensured automatically. This applies in particular to countries with strict requirements - such as Sweden or Poland - and ensures that zip codes are processed consistently, compliantly and without manual adjustment in future. We have written more on this topic in our blog post summarized.
Even more automatic corrections
In future, automatic corrections for street names with several hyphens will be made more frequently during the address check. For example, "Oskar von Miller Straße" will automatically become "Oskar-von-Miller-Str.", which is now considered a minor adjustment. This means that a manual check no longer needs to be carried out. This optimization improves data quality without burdening the user with unnecessary queries.
For our customers, the update means above all Less effort, fewer queries and more reliable address processing.
More clarity for integrations - improved status code descriptions
With our latest update, we have Description of the addressCheck status codes extended. In addition to clearer feedback, the status codes now also contain a detailed interpretation and the intended response to the status code, which ensures more efficient integration and a better understanding of the results. This enables even easier and more precise integration of our services into your systems.
