Product release update

Integration

Version 1.0.0

Initial release. The plugin automatically checks the shipping address for each sales order against the endereco API and returns specific corrections directly. Orders with discrepancies are flagged for manual review.

Features

  • Automatic Address Validation via Queue: Jobs are automatically flagged for review upon receipt. A cron job processes the queue every five minutes (up to 50 jobs per run). During the review, the job is assigned a configurable pending status; afterward, it is assigned one of four target statuses depending on the review result.
  • Flow Module: The „Mark Order for Address Verification” action is available in Flow Studio and can be freely combined with other triggers and actions. This allows you, for example, to trigger the verification only after payment has been received or to re-verify an order that has already been verified.
  • Configurable Status Codes: A separate target status can be defined for each validation result (address correct, minor correction applied, suggested corrections available, address not found). If no target status is configured, the order’s status is restored to what it was before the validation.
  • Comment Feature: Optionally, after each review, an internal comment is added to the job that compares the original address and the suggested correction field by field.
  • Tags: Five tags indicate the validation result for the order ("Address valid," "Address corrected," "Address has issues," "Address validation pending," "Address validation failed").
  • Order Properties: The complete audit result is saved as order properties. This allows corrections that were automatically applied to be undone manually or via a workflow, if necessary.

Configuration

The plugin is configured using three tabs: endereco Interface (API endpoint and API key), Address Validation (processing mode, time of reservation, automatic corrections, comment function), and Order Status (start and end statuses for each validation result).

Version 7.4.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.7.0.1 through 6.7.15.1

This release is largely identical to version 6.10.0 for Shopware 6.6 and includes the following changes:

New functions

  • Rate Limiting for the API Proxy (disabled by default)

Improvements

  • Cache now uses the store's backend (e.g., Redis)

Bug fixes

  • Store API: Sessions were started unnecessarily

Notes on the Update

See the release notes for Shopware version 6.6 below.

Version 6.10.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.6.0.0 through 6.6.10.29

New functions

  • Rate Limiting for the API Proxy: The proxy endpoint can now be protected against excessive or automated requests. The limits can be configured per IP address, per session, and globally per sales channel. This feature is disabled by default and can be set up in the new „Rate Limiting” section of the plugin configuration. If a limit is exceeded, the affected requests are logged. IP addresses and session tokens are anonymized in the process.

Improvements

  • Cache now uses the store's backend: Effective immediately, the endereco cache uses the same cache backend as the rest of the store (e.g., Redis). In multi-server environments, results are now shared rather than stored separately on each server. Stores using the default configuration (file system) will not notice any difference.
  • PHP 8.4: The plugin is now officially compatible with PHP 8.4.

Bug fixes

  • Store API: Sessions were started unnecessarily: The plugin would start a session for Store API requests, even though the Store API is supposed to operate in a stateless manner. This could have caused problems starting with Shopware 6.6.10.21. The session is now only used if it already exists.
  • DHL Pickware: For standard addresses, the street name and house number are now once again treated as required fields.

Notes on the Update

Rate limiting is disabled by default. If you want to secure the proxy endpoint, enable the feature in the plugin configuration under „Rate Limiting” and compare the default limits with your own order volume. The global limit, in particular, is customizable. If you have any questions, our support team is available at support@endereco.de.

If you're using a cache backend other than the file system (e.g., Redis), you should be aware that the endereco cache will now be stored there.

If you're using the Store version of the plugin, download the latest ZIP file and click „Update” in the plugin list.

We recommend that you first perform the update in a test environment.

Version 1.4.1

New functions

  • Approved corrections in plain text: If an address was automatically corrected or if the customer accepted a suggestion, the app clearly displays the changes. They can be seen during checkout below the success banner and on the thank-you page in the address section. This allows the buyer to see on the order what has been changed from what they originally entered.

Improvements

  • List of defects instead of continuous text: Below the banner, the app displays all necessary corrections as a list and simultaneously highlights the affected fields. A missing or incorrect house number is an item on this list—it is no longer treated as a separate issue.
  • Complete Markup: Each status code from the order validation process performed by the app is stored as a tag (`ship_*` for the shipping address, `bill_*` for the billing address). A correction that is automatically applied is marked as such.
  • No second exam without a reason: If the address has already been verified during checkout, the thank-you page does not check it again and does not generate duplicate page views, entries, or tags.
  • Clearer Communication: The text on the checkout page and the thank-you page no longer addresses the buyer as „you“ or „Sir/Ma’am“; instead, it states the result and the next step.
  • Standard Plan: The price is €0.06 per order.

Bug fixes

  • When a correction is applied automatically, the field error is no longer displayed.
  • A previous verification result is no longer valid for an address that has since changed: the approval is tied to the address itself and expires after 30 seconds.
  • If the checkout process is waiting for the customer's decision, it will wait for that decision to be made before proceeding with the purchase.
  • Suggestions and the address box remain on the screen when the validation result is retrieved from the cache.

Version 1.4.0

New functions

  • Address Verification at Checkout: As the customer enters their shipping address, it is validated, and the result is displayed directly during checkout. They see the recognized address, receive suggestions for corrections, and can see at a glance which fields need to be adjusted.
  • The purchase will remain pending until the address is correct: An invalid shipping address blocks the checkout process until the customer corrects the address or explicitly confirms it. This block can be enabled or disabled using a feature toggle.
  • Deciding to keep your address counts as a decision: If the customer keeps their address, the order is marked as `address_confirmed_by_customer`; any active fulfillment hold is then automatically released.
  • Automatic Correction of Minor Errors: The app automatically corrects minor errors on demand, without unnecessarily delaying the customer. Auto-correction can be enabled or disabled using a feature toggle.
  • Two booking levels: The address validation during checkout and on the thank-you page can be purchased separately. The permissions for the extensions depend on the plan you've purchased.
  • Statistics: The statistics page displays rolling metrics over a 12-month period and the distribution of test results.

Improvements

  • Errors directly in the field: Any missing information in the address appears as a message in the relevant field and no longer as a general message on the form.
  • The current address is always visible: Each test result shows the tested address, including the country.
  • Setup Instructions: The Features page includes brief instructions for the checkout features; the buttons there are labeled "Shopify Plus" where applicable.

Bug fixes

  • The checkout will no longer be blocked while the check is still in progress.
  • The purchase will be approved if the customer keeps their address.
  • The customer's selection is retained when the checkout page reloads.
  • Address autocomplete suggestions remain stable even if the response is delayed.
  • Usage reports from the Checkout Editor are no longer counted.
  • The app adds its identifier (`validated_by_endereco`) to the existing order attributes instead of replacing the list. Information added to the order by other apps is retained.

Note for Retailers

  • The address verification during checkout is a separate booking step. If it is not included in the booked plan, the checkout process proceeds as usual; the verification on the thank-you page remains unaffected.

Version 7.3.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.7.0.1 through 6.7.13.0

This release is largely identical to version 6.9.0 for Shopware 6.6 and includes the following changes:

New functions

  • The address validation result can be saved with the shipping address (new setting, disabled by default)

Improvements

  • A separate log file instead of entries in the Shopware log
  • JS-SDK Updated to Version 1.14.5

Bug fixes

  • Webhooks for Addresses Without endereco Data
  • Crash when logging out after changing the address via the admin panel
  • Error during address validation via the Store API

Notes on the Update

See the release notes for Shopware version 6.6 below.

Version 6.9.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.6.0.0 through 6.6.10.22

New functions

  • Save the address verification result at the shipping address: A new setting allows you to specify whether the result of the address validation should be carried over to the shipping address when the order is completed. This ensures that you can track which address details were actually validated, even if the customer later changes or deletes their address. This setting is disabled by default and applies only to orders placed after it is enabled. Existing orders remain unchanged.

Improvements

  • Custom Log File: Endereco entries are now written to a separate log file (var/log/endereco_shopware6_client_.log) instead of the Shopware log. Only critical errors are still logged in the Shopware log. Connection issues are logged as warnings instead of errors.
  • JS-SDK Updated to Version 1.14.5: Resolves conflicting statuses during address validation, missing name statuses after corrections, and incorrect selection statuses for addresses that have been edited again.

Bug fixes

  • Webhooks for Addresses Without endereco Data: If a customer had registered without the endereco address extension, the webhook transmission could fail. This has been fixed.
  • Crash When Logging Out: If an address was changed via the admin panel or directly in the database, the system might crash when logging out. This has been fixed.
  • Missing Billing for JSON Requests: Address validations via the Store API or headless clients were not billed correctly because the session IDs were not retrieved in JSON requests. Billing now works regardless of the request format.
  • Error during address validation via the Store API: If a request was sent via the Store API without a billing address, an error might have occurred. The validation now correctly handles missing address information.

Notes on the Update

This update includes a database migration. If you're using the Store version of the plugin, download the latest ZIP file and click „Update“ in the plugin list to run the migration.

The new setting „Copy address validation data to the shipping address“ is disabled by default and must be enabled manually if needed.

We recommend that you first perform the update in a test environment.

Version 1.3.2

Compatible with JTL-Shop 5.1.2 through 5.7.2

Bug fixes

  • Error Messages When Session Data Is Missing: In certain processes, warnings or errors could occur if no customer or shipping address was available in the session, such as for guest customers. Address processing now runs without errors even when session data is incomplete.

Compatibility

  • PHP 8.4: The plugin is now officially compatible with PHP 8.4.
  • JTL-Shop 5.6.2 and 5.7.2: Compatibility with the latest patch releases has been tested and confirmed.

Notes on the Update

No manual steps are required. Existing configurations remain unchanged.

Version 1.1.0

Compatible with OXID eShop 7.1 through 7.5 (Twig)

This update includes several security enhancements, full integration of the JS-SDK 1.14.5, and numerous bug fixes, particularly for the APEX theme.

Improvements

  • API Key Secured: Communication with the endereco API now takes place on the server side. The API key is no longer sent to the browser.
  • JS-SDK 1.14.5 Fully Integrated: Address validation now works correctly for countries with and without a state selection option. Outdated validation statuses are detected and corrected when the page is loaded.
  • Smart Autofill removed: This feature has been permanently disabled and removed from the plugin configuration because it led to incorrect entries in practice.
  • Name verification defined more clearly: The setting was previously called „Title Check,“ even though it controls the entire name verification process. The name has been updated.
  • OXID 7.4 and 7.5: The plugin now officially supports the latest versions of OXID as well.
  • Referrer Secured: Previously, if the Referer header was missing, the server path was sent to the endereco API. Now, the store URL is used instead.
  • Unnecessary code removed: Outdated components from the OXID 6 era and unused code have been removed. PHP warnings in various areas have been resolved.

Bug fixes

  • 502 Error During Address Validation: If no country was selected during registration or the „No title“ option was used, the address validation might have failed with a 502 error. This has been fixed.
  • Special Characters in Country Names: Country names containing apostrophes (e.g., Côte d’Ivoire) could cause the address validation to fail to initialize correctly. Character processing now works reliably.
  • The test status was not saved: For newly created shipping addresses, guest orders, and checkout registrations, the validation status was not saved correctly and was reset every time the page was loaded. The status is now saved correctly the first time it is saved.
  • Address Correction on the Order Page: Users who clicked „Edit“ in the correction dialog were redirected to the address entry page, but the form did not open there. The form now opens correctly after the redirection.
  • Checkout Buttons in the APEX Theme: The „Continue“ button in the checkout process did not trigger the address validation. The „Edit“ button closed the form again after the validation. Both buttons now work as intended.
  • Name Verification with an Incorrect Name: If a new shipping address was created in the APEX theme, the name validation might have used the name of the previous address. The cached name is now reset when a new address is created.
  • Suggestions for countries were ignored: If the address validation suggested a country other than the one entered, the suggestion was not accepted. Country corrections are now processed correctly
  • Suggested corrections in the admin area: Suggested corrections were not displayed on the customer master data and address pages in the admin panel. This has been fixed.

Notes on the Update

After the update, run the database migrations, clear the cache, and rebuild the database views.

Addresses that have already been verified will be re-verified once after the update, since the internal calculation of the address hash has changed. This happens automatically the next time the address is used.

Shops with customizations should note: The endereco API is now accessed via its own proxy controller instead of directly from the browser. And saving an address now requires a POST request from the logged-in owner of the address.

We recommend that you first perform the update in a test environment.

Version 1.14.5

This update fixes a bug in status management related to address validation.

Bug fixes

  • Conflicting Selection Status: If an address that had already been verified was edited and then reconfirmed via the correction modal, the old and new selection statuses might have been saved simultaneously. The address was then considered both automatically corrected and confirmed by the customer. The old status is now correctly removed when the address is verified again.

Notes on the Update

Version 1.14.5 replaces 1.14.4 without any further changes. Existing configurations remain unchanged.

Version 1.14.4

This update fixes two bugs in status processing during address and name validation.

Bug fixes

  • Incorrect Address Status When Spaces Are Present: Addresses that differed only in the presence of leading or trailing spaces could be assigned an inconsistent status. The address was marked as requiring correction even though it was correct. This has been fixed.
  • Missing status during name verification: If a name contained a typo during the first review attempt and was subsequently corrected, the status for the first and last names was not updated. The status is now set correctly for each relevant response.

Notes on the Update

Version 1.14.4 replaces 1.14.3 without any further changes. Existing configurations remain unchanged.

Version 1.3.2

Improvements

  • Thank You Page: If an address is recognized correctly, no suggestion is displayed. The border and rounded corners enhance visual consistency with the rest of the checkout design.
  • Configuration: The fulfillment features are marked as „beta“ and are disabled by default in new installations.

Version 1.3.1

Improvements

  • Technical Update: The app has been migrated to the latest version of Shopify. For merchants, nothing has changed in terms of how the app works. The update improves compatibility and maintainability for future versions of Shopify.

Version 1.3.0

New functions

  • Marking Orders: The result of the address validation is now automatically saved as tags associated with the order. Tags make it possible to filter and analyze orders based on address quality and to control workflows.
  • Fulfillment Hold: Orders with an incorrect shipping address can be automatically placed „On Hold“ if this feature is enabled. The hold prevents the fulfillment system from processing the order until the address has been corrected. Once the address has been corrected, the hold is automatically released.
  • Address Confirmation by the Customer: If a customer decides to keep the original address even though it needs to be corrected, this is tagged as `address_confirmed_by_customer`. An active fulfillment hold is then automatically released if the feature is enabled.
  • Automatic Correction of Minor Address Errors: Minor address errors are now automatically corrected only if the feature is enabled. The order is tagged with `address_corrected_automatically`, and any active hold is released.

Improvements

  • The configuration page has been divided into three clearly distinct sections: address autocomplete during checkout, address validation on the order confirmation page, and fulfillment settings.

Note for Retailers

  • This version requires new app permissions. After the update, merchants will be automatically prompted to confirm the new permissions.

Version 7.2.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.7.0.1 through 6.7.11.1

Improvements

  • CrefoPay PayPal Express Checkout: endereco and CrefoPays PayPal Express Checkout can now be used simultaneously. The address verification process runs without interrupting the Express Checkout. Important to note: With Express Checkout, only minor corrections are possible. If a major address change is necessary, the customer must complete the order using the regular PayPal Checkout.
  • PayPal Express Address Processing: House numbers that PayPal saves in the additional address field are now taken into account during address validation. Customers no longer need to manually correct affected addresses.

Bug fixes

  • Shopware B2B Suite: When the B2B Suite was enabled, saving an address in the shopfront could cause an error. This has been fixed.

Notes on the Update

For standard installations, no manual steps are required. If you're using the Store version of the plugin, download the latest ZIP file and click „Update“ in the plugin list. We recommend testing the update in a test environment first.

Version 6.8.0

Compatible with Shopware 6.6.0.0 through 6.6.10.19

  • API Connection Test for Sales Channels: If configuration inheritance was re-enabled for a sales channel, the API connection test would fail. The test now correctly uses the global configuration.

Notes on the Update

For standard installations, no manual steps are required. If you're using the Store version of the plugin, download the latest ZIP file and click „Update“ in the plugin list. We recommend testing the update in a test environment first.

Version 4.6.0

This update brings the underlying JS SDK to version 1.14.3 and thus contains several functional enhancements and corrections.

New functions

  • Address suffix is now also checkedThe „Additional address“ field (additionalInfo) is now included in the address check.
  • Keyboard navigation in the address modal: Suggestion lists and input fields in the address modal can now be operated using the keyboard.

Improvements

  • Minor address corrections (e.g. typing errors in street names) are now automatically applied without a correction dialog appearing.
  • Input processing in address correction mode has been optimized.

Bug fixes

  • Character loss with fast input: When typing quickly in the street field, individual characters could be lost. This has been fixed.
  • Federal state field for countries without subdivisionsIf a country was selected without selecting a federal state, it could happen that an outdated value remained in the federal state field. The field now behaves correctly.
  • Address modal with hidden delivery addressIf the alternative delivery address was deactivated via checkbox, an address check was still triggered. The modal now only appears if the delivery address is actually active.

Remote functions

  • Smartfill removedThe Smartfill function has been removed as it was not working reliably. The corresponding setting has disappeared from the plugin configuration.

Version 1.2.6

New functions

  • New plan: Essential - A new entry plan for €0.04 per order with address verification on the order confirmation page, without checkout autocomplete.
  • Functions not included in the active plan are now grayed out in the app.

Improvements

  • New retailers now also receive a 30-day trial period free of charge when booking the standard plan.

Bug fixes

  • Invisible control characters in address fields could cause the address check to return no results. These are now removed automatically.

Version 1.2.5

Bug fixes

  • A billing error that could lead to incorrect or multiple billing points has been fixed.

Version 1.2.4

New functions

  • The app now shows a shortened version of the current release notes directly on the start page.

Improvements

  • The currently installed version and the build time are now visible in the app footer.
  • New banners now show the status on the billing page more clearly.
  • The app has been fully translated into Polish.
  • Navigation in the statistics overview has been further improved.

Bug fixes

  • Testing the checkout extension in the Shopify editor no longer generates billing entries.
  • The autocomplete instructions are now also displayed correctly when the page is loaded for the first time.
  • The change of plan now also works correctly in test stores.
